ST. PAUL, Minn. — The St. Paul Public Library has chosen Kekla Magoon's "How It Went Down" as its 2015 Read Brave book.

Read Brave is the library's annual citywide program encouraging young people and adults to read a young adult novel and discuss it.

"How It Went Down" examines the shooting death of a black teenager by a white man and its effects on the victim's friends, family and community.

Magoon, the author, will visit St. Paul on Feb. 25 and 26.

Read Brave previously featured the novels "Everybody Sees the Ants" by A.S. King in 2013 and "Eleanor and Park" by Rainbow Rowell in 2014.
