The Lowertown off-leash dog park in downtown St. Paul will be moved about a block starting Friday to make room for construction of the new Saints ballpark.

The relocated dog park will be east of Broadway Street, between 6th and 7th Streets, and will remain in that location until a new dog park opens in spring 2015 as part of the ballpark complex.

St. Paul will lease the property from the Minnesota Department of Transportation and restore it to its original condition before returning it to MnDOT's management.

Residents also may use off-leash dog parks at Arlington Avenue and Arkwright Street on the East Side and under the High Bridge on the West End, or on-leash dog parks at Mears Park and Wacouta Commons in downtown.
