A two-vehicle collision in east-central Minnesota left a 79-year-old passenger dead and her husband hospitalized, authorities said.

The crash occurred midafternoon Sunday at Hwy. 169 and Mille Lacs County Road 11, about 4 miles north of Milaca, according to the State Patrol.

Killed was Madeline M. Dombrovski, of St. Cloud, the patrol said. Her husband, 81-year-old Kenneth L. Dombrovski, was taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale with serious injuries.

Three people in the other vehicle were all injured but expected to survive. The patrol identified them as driver Kelsey K. Shaw, and Lindsey O'Leary, both 19-year-olds from Andover, and Geraldine L. Tekavec, 78, of Coon Rapids.

The St. Cloud couple's car was heading east on County Road 11 and entered the intersection with Hwy. 169, the patrol said. The other car, heading south on the divided highway and with the right of way, struck the elderly couple's vehicle broadside, sending it rolling until it was back on its wheels, the patrol added.

All vehicle occupants had on their seat belts, and there was no evidence of alcohol use by either driver, according to the patrol.
