An electrical storm unplugged the Square Lake Festival back in August, leaving the event's centerpiece -- an original film score by International Novelty Gamelin -- saved for another day. That day is today.

The Javanese-style instrumental ensemble (click here to get an admittedly still vague idea of the music) will perform tonight at the Cedar Cultural Center, debuting the music it created to go along with the 1926 movie "The Adventures of Prince Achmed," which many consider to be the first real animated feature, and a pretty wild one at that, I hear. Experimental banjo player (also a pretty wild one) will also perform. Show time is 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $10 advance/$15 at the door. Click here for more details.
