In Montana, spring snowstorms are commonplace. For that matter, it's hard totell when one snow season ends and the next begins.In any case, a snowstorm is in the works for the northern Rockies Wednesdaynight, and wintry conditions will impact the northernmost Plains Thursday.

Snowfall will be greatest in the mountains of northern Wyoming and southwesternMontana where a foot of snow is possible overnight. Snowfall amounts will beless impressive once out of the mountains, but 3 to 6 inches could accumulatein eastern Montana western North Dakota.

Slippery travel conditions are likely in southwestern and south-central Montanaduring the overnight hours. Thursday the snowfall will tend to melt on pavedsurfaces unless it comes down really hard.
