ENDING WITH A BANG
Thursday-Friday: The world may end in a whimper, but not the Minnesota Orchestra's Crash! Bang! Boom! Percussion Festival. James MacMillan's "Veni, Veni, Emmanuel," with Scottish percussionist Colin Currie, draws from 15th-century French plainsong and calls for 18 percussion instruments.
