GARY LOURIS

Tuesday: "I focused on the things I think I'm good at, which [are] singing and writing," Gary Louris said last month upon the release of "Vagabonds," his first solo album after two decades with the Jayhawks. The disc strips off the electric twang and fuzz-rock of his old band (or bands, counting Golden Smog) to offer a stirring, pristine showcase of those very talents he mentioned. It's definitely more a singer/songwriter record than a band record, but Louris and producer Chris Robinson (of the Black Crowes) also crafted some interestingly atmospheric and vibrant arrangements, which are being resurrected on tour with Bay Area ensemble Vetiver. They're playing other nuggets from Louris' multifaceted career, too. (7:30 p.m. Tue. $21.50-$26.50. Pantages Theatre, 710 Hennepin Av. S., Mpls. 651-989-5151.)
