Speeding driver dies after rear-ending stalled semitrailer truck near downtown Minneapolis

One person died after hitting a stalled semitrailer truck early Saturday just outside downtown Minneapolis.

According to the State Patrol, a semitrailer truck was stalled in the right westbound lane of Interstate 394 near Dunwoody Boulevard just after 4 a.m. when Yassin Mohamed Isse, 29, of Plymouth, driving a 2014 Ford Fusion at freeway speed, rear-ended the truck.

The State Patrol has yet to release the conditions of the truck driver, Gregory K. Smith, 52, of Dublin, Ga., and his passenger, Monica D. Hall, 45, of Dublin, Ga.
