Denard Span missed two months last season because of a concussion and returned to the DL because of migraine symptoms. He returned in time to play in a handful of games.

For awhile, it seemed as if Span would join Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau as the biggest health concerns on the club. But being able to play the final game of the regular season - when he came through with a pinch hit double and scored the winning run - allowed him to head into the offseason on a positive note.

On Tuesday, he had a big grin as he entered the clubhouse.

``I feel great," Span said. ``Ready to work"

The Twins have been wafting for Span to report. There's a pitcher named Luis Perdomo in camp who wears his beard the same way Span does and looks a little like him. They couldn't wait to introduce him to Perdomo. Span turned and saw Perdomo and busted up laughing.

That leaves Justin Morneau, Josh Willingham, Sean Burroughs and Oswaldo Arcia as position players who have not reported to camp. But there is a rumor that Morneau is in town.

Luke Hughes is still waiting for his MRI to be looked at by Dr. Lewis Yocum in Los Angeles. Hughes sprained his right shoulder during Australian winter league play and it became inflamed while he worked out last week. He's hoping that all he needs is a cortisone shot.

That's all for now. I'll check in this afternoon.
