Drier air will replace most of the thunderstorms currently rumbling throughthe Northeast on Sunday. The South will not be so lucky.Showers and thunderstorms will line the Gulf and Southeast coasts on Sundaydue to the presence of a cold front. Widespread severe weather is notanticipated, but a localized number of the thunderstorms could produce damagingwinds. The majority of the thunderstorms will also dump drenchingdownpours.

The thunderstorms will evolve into a soaking rain over the Carolinas andGeorgia as an area of low pressure develops along the front. The rain willcontinue into the afternoon hours, making the day not ideal for outdooractivities.
