The Southeast and southern Plains will sizzle today, the first day ofsummer. Temperatures will surge into the upper 90s across most of this area,and it will hit 100 degrees for some. High temperatures typically range in thelow 90s along the Gulf Coast states and in the upper 80s in areas a bit farthernorth this time of year.It will feel even hotter thanks to high humidity, making for stickyconditions for anyone planning outdoor activities. Most of these areas willhave a day full of sunshine. For those that do brave the heat today and headoutdoors, be sure to use lots of sunscreen and stay hydrated.
