BURNSVILLE

JAN. 6

Assault: An officer pulled over a Burnsville man, 25, near County Road 42 and Portland Avenue about 1 a.m. for driving without headlights. The driver claimed his headlights had just "blown" and demanded to know if he was pulled over because he was black. The officer asked to see the man's license, but he began yelling, then started talking about Jesus and said the officer looked like a demon and had an evil look in his eye. The officer, thinking the man was reaching for a weapon, grabbed his arm, and a scuffle ensued, during which the driver grabbed the officer around the throat, according to a criminal complaint. The officer eventually subdued the man with the help of another officer. He was charged with drunken driving, assault and obstructing the legal process.

DWI. An adult man was arrested for DWI after a traffic stop for speeding and improper lane use near the intersection of Hwy. 169 and W. 2nd Street.

JAN. 2

Drugs. A 54-year-old Inver Grove Heights man was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and a 39-year-old White Bear Lake man was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at Mystic Lake Casino, 2400 Mystic Lake Blvd. NW.

JAN. 4

Drug activity. A 33-year-old Roseville woman was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia at Mystic Lake Casino, 2400 Mystic Lake Blvd. NW.

JAN. 5

Assault. A 33-year-old St. Paul man was arrested for assault at Mystic Lake Casino, 2400 Mystic Lake Blvd. NW.

SAVAGE

DEC. 31

Theft. A bottle of champagne valued at $50 was reported stolen from a Savage business.

JAN. 2

Theft. Guns were reported stolen from a storage locker at Public Storage, 7801 W. 128th Street.

Theft. A baby Jesus statue was reported stolen from the front yard of a residence on the 12200 block of Hillsboro Avenue S.

JAN. 5

Theft. Three propane tanks valued at $75 were reported stolen from a locked storage rack at Speedway Gas, 8660 Egan Drive.

JAN. 6

Theft. A GPS unit, iPod and snowboarding equipment valued at $500 were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle on the 13700 block of Hillsboro Avenue S.

DWI. A 36-year-old Prior Lake man was arrested for DWI and having no Minnesota driver's license after a traffic stop for speeding near the intersection of Hwy. 101 and Zinran Avenue S. The man's blood-alcohol content was 0.14 percent, police said.

JAN. 7

Robbery. An armed robbery was reported at Famous Footwear, 1593 17th Av. E.

JAN. 8

Motor vehicle theft. A motor vehicle was reported stolen on the 1100 block of 2nd Avenue E.

JAN. 9

Order for protection violation. A 20-year-old Shakopee man was arrested for violating an order for protection near the intersection of County Road 21 and Southbridge Parkway.
