The Burnhaven Library, 1101 W. County Road 42, holds a drop-in session the second Saturday of every month to share homemade artwork and crafts.

The next session is from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, when people can share crafts made from yarn, fabric, paper and other materials. All skill levels are welcome. People should bring their own supplies.

Vaudeville, ragtime on stage Wednesday

My Sweet Patootie, featuring modern vaudeville and roots and ragtime music, will perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday during the Wednesday in the Park concert series.

The shows are in the Civic Center Parkway Amphitheater at 75 Civic Center Pkwy. In case of bad weather, the shows will move to the Diamondhead Education Center, 200 W. Burnsville Pkwy.

People who bring a nonperishable food item will get a Pepsi product in return. The Burnsville Senior Center will sell popcorn for $1.

Rockin' Readers and Taco Tuesday

Joe Gothard, superintendent of the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage school district, will be the celebrity book reader at the Rockin' Readers series Thursday.

Books are geared toward elementary- and preschool-age children. The show starts at 11:15 a.m. at Nicollet Commons Park, 12600 Nicollet Av.

After the book, the Rockin' Lunch Hour concert at noon will feature Taco Tuesday.

Parks host weekend movies and music

The movie "Bears" will be shown Friday as part of the "Flicks on the Bricks" series at Nicollet Commons Park, 12600 Nicollet Av.

Seating starts at 7:30 p.m., and the movie begins at dusk.

The polka band Smorgasbord will perform at 7 p.m. Sunday as part of the New Spaces Heart of the City Music Festival at Nicollet Commons Park. On July 12, the Northern Winds symphonic band will perform.

Kelley Park features Patty Peterson music

Patty Peterson, Friends and Family will perform at the next Music in Kelley Park concert from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. The park is at 6855 Fortino St. Food and beverages are available for purchase at the park.

The series is co-hosted by the Apple Valley Arts Foundation and the city.
