Expressions Community Theater will hold auditions for the play "Christmas Belles" at the Lakeville Area Arts Center from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 31 and Sept. 1. The center is at 20965 Holyoke Av., Lakeville.

People wanting to audition should bring a headshot or a current photo and their calendar. The auditions will consist of reading from the script. Rehearsals will begin Sept. 14, with performances Nov. 13 to 15 and 19 to 22.

The comedy is set around Christmastime in the small town of Fayro, Texas, and its annual Christmas program, which is falling apart.

There are 11 characters: Geneva Musgrave (age 50-plus), the crusty owner of the flower shop and the town gossip; Honey Raye Futrelle (50ish), the eldest of three Futrelle sisters, who is a sexy, vivacious go-getter; Gina Jo Dubberly (20s), a "Daisy Duke"-type of girl; John Curtis Buntner (35 to 55), the deputy sheriff; Twink Futrelle (40s), the black sheep of the family and the toughest of the sisters; Dub Dubberly (40s), whose life revolves around NASCAR, hunting and drinking beer; Frankie Futrelle Dubberly (40s), the youngest and most normal sister, who is pregnant with her second set of twins; Rhonda Lynn Lampley (50s), the flashy manager of The Dairy Dog; Justin Waverly (20s), the sweet and innocent interim pastor; Raynerd Chisum (open age), a simple, part-time employee at The Dairy Dog, and Patsy Price (40 to 60), an elegant society matron.
