Andrew Litton, artistic director of Minnesota Orchestra's Sommerfest, dislocated his finger in a scooter accident while on vacation.

As a result, the conductor and pianist will not perform one of his scheduled concerts.

Litton will play Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" on Friday night, but he has withdrawn from playing Fauré's Piano Quintet No. 2 in a chamber concert Sunday evening at Orchestra Hall.

Gwen Pappas of the Minnesota Orchestra explained that the Fauré would require more rehearsal than the Gershwin and thus more strain on the injured finger.

In the Sunday show, the Fauré piece will be replaced by Beethoven's String Quartet in C Minor, Opus 18.
