With Monday being Martin Luther King Day and many people off of work for the holiday, some area transit providers will cut some service due to anticipated drop in ridership. Other agencies will run a full schedule of buses and trains.

The Transit Information Center will be open Monday to take calls from riders who need trip planning assistance or who want to know if their route is running. The center takes calls for Metro Transit, Plymouth Metrolink, SouthWest Transit, Maple Grove Transit, Minnesota Valley Transit Authority and BlueXpress. The number is 612-373-3333. Information also is available through NexTrip on Metro Transit's website.

Here is what you can expect Monday:

Metro Transit will run a full schedule of buses and trains. The one exception is that there will be no service on campus express buses to the University of Minnesota since school is not in session. Those routes will begin operating Tuesday when classes resume.

Minnesota Valley Transit Authority will have service reductions on express routes 460 and 465 between the Burnsville Transit Station and Gateway Ramp in downtown Minneapolis. Some trips have been eliminated and other departure times modified.

The same is true on Route 477, which provides service between the Lakeville/Cedar Park and Ride and downtown Minneapolis Here is a link to the routes and times that have been changed. All other MVTA routes will operate as usual.

SouthWest Transit, Maple Grove Transit and Plymouth Metrolink will run regular weekday service.

BlueXpress and Shakopee Transit express route 490 from Shakopee to downtown Minneapolis and routes 491 and 492 from Prior Lake and Burnsville to downtown Minneapolis will run as usual.

The Shakopee Circulator, Route 496, and the shuttle link to BlueXpress buses (Route 498) will not operate on Monday.
