Phil has the game tonight, but I thought I'd check in with a couple minor league injury updates.

Lefthander Stephen Gonsalves was in the Twin Cities recently to have his shoulder checked out. The exam came back clean, and Gonsalves has begun a throwing program.

Lefthander Tyler Jay has been slowed with biceps tendinitis, but has started throwing in the bullpen. Both Jay and Gonsalves are at Class AA Chattanooga.

Not good news for second baseman Luis Arraez, who hit .347 last season and won the Midwest League batting title. Arraez, who began the season at Class A Fort Myers, recently wrecked his right knee while rounding first. On Wednesday, he had surgery to repair a torn ACL and is done for the season.

One more thing, Nick Gordon is playing short and Engelb Vielma is at second for Chattanooga. But look for them to switch positions occasionally just so they have some flexibility. And Vielma might play a couple other positions, too.

Both are off to good starts at the plate, with Gordon collecting four hits in a game earlier this week.
