Minnesota United FC Game Day

7 p.m. Thursday vs. Atlanta • National Sports Center in Blaine

Live broadcast online at MNUnitedFC.com. Postgame fireworks.

Preview: Eliminated from the NASL's spring season title chase, United (4-5-2) can knock Atlanta from the playoffs with a draw or victory. An Atlanta victory, and a Carolina loss to San Antonio, would give the Silverbacks the championship and a spot in November's Soccer Bowl.

United FC at a glance: Injuries and a leaky defense — Minnesota's 20 goals allowed is tied for the league high — made for a frustrating season. … Medical school-bound Kyle Altman, a defender and the team captain, plays his final match.

Atlanta at a glance: A 1-1 draw against Carolina on Saturday kept the Silverbacks (5-3-3) in the title hunt. … Atlanta has scored one goal in each of its past five games.
