A snowmobiler went underwater on a lake west of the Twin Cities and was found dead the next day, authorities said.
The body of Lawrence Stifter, 52, of Winsted, was located by emergency responders about 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Winsted Lake, according to the McLeod County Sheriff's Office.
The Sheriff's Office said it was first alerted to potential trouble when it received a call at roughly 6:30 p.m. Wednesday about a snowmobile possibly going into the water.
