Two people were killed when their snowmobile struck a power pole in Scott County on Sunday.

Deputies were called to the intersection of 280th Street West and Lehnert Lane in Blakeley Township about 4:30 p.m.

The male driver of the black Ski-Doo snowmobile was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. The female passenger was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead upon arrival.

Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, according to the Sheriff's Office.
