Twin Cities metal fans not impressed by U2 got their own major concert announcement to savor Monday morning: Thrash giants Slayer and Megadeth are teaming up for a winter tour that will land Feb. 4 at St. Paul's Roy Wilkins Auditorium. Tickets go on sale Dec. 4 at noon for $59-$39, plus there will be a limited number of tour-mandated $10 discount seats.
Dubbed the American Carnage Tour, the co-headlining outing finds Slayer and Megadeth each riding the buzz of well-received new albums, "World Painted Blood" and "Endgame," respectively. The two bands previously toured together in 1991. This time, another pioneering thrash band from the 1980s, Testament, will open the shows.
