Coon Rapids Boulevard will be closed to traffic near Mercy Hospital this weekend so a new skyway can be installed over the street to connect the hospital and a new medical office building across the street.
The street, in Coon Rapids, will be closed from 5 a.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday.
Traffic will be detoured around the segment of Coon Rapids Boulevard between Dakotah and Blackfoot Streets. The detour route uses 9th Avenue, 119th Avenue NW. and Blackfoot Street.
In the event of bad weather, the installation and road closure will be postponed until the following weekend. Informational updates will be provided via electronic message boards at both ends of the detour.
