Mode designer fashion (7781 Main Street, Maple Grove, 763-391-6102) will clear out a truckload of merch by pricing most of the designer product at $5, $10 or $15, including plus sizes, home goods, accessories and other designer clothing. Most of it is placed in bins, so it's a grab and go kind of sale. Exceptions to the $5, $10 and $15 prices: a Marc Jacobs fragrance set for $33, regularly $220 and SerFontaine denim for $63, regularly $189. Doors open at 9 a.m. Saturday and will sale continue for a week, but supplies will dwindle quickly.

men's stores (5 Twin Cities locations) have 60 percent off most signature suits ($318 on sale), outerwear, hats, gloves and scarves and 70 percent off all sport coats through Jan. 18.
It's a great sale for hard-to-fit guys who need a short or long size. Sizes not found in the store can be ordered for no additional charge.

Ikea is the place to go if you want a cheap loveseat without bedbugs (read, new). The Lillberg (shown) is only $99 Sunday only, regularly $249. Free breakfast Saturday and Sunday too until 11 a.m.. Be in line when the store opens at 10 a.m. or you won't get one. (Breakfast starts at 9:30)

Formerly the Great Estate Sale, Historic Interiors Group (10001 Minnetonka Blvd., Minnetonka, 952-933-9924) is taking 50 percent off everything Friday and Saturday including lighting (lots of chandeliers), vintage, accessories and one-of-a-kinds. The merch is higher-end than it used to be during the Great Estate Sale days, which was mostly from India and China.

Goodthings (White Bear Lake, 651-426-8006, Maple Grove, 763-494-9255) has a sale of 50 to 70 percent off clothing, jewelry, gifts and housewares Friday and Saturday, January 8-9.

Harry & David (1-877-322-1200, Albertville, 763-497-8490, Medford, 507-455-0372) is having one of its biggest January sales. Selections of the famous pears, towers and gift baskets are discounted 33 to 50 percent. There isn't any good sale merch at the Mall of America location, but prices on some sale items at the Albertville and Medford stores are even lower than online. Albertville has the organic version of the Royal Riviera pears for $20 (5 pounds), a great deal. And there's an all-occasion gift basket for $25, reg. $60.
