FINANCIAL EXPLOITATION
• Bills go unpaid even though the elder should have the financial resources to pay them.
• The vulnerable adult doesn't have access to his or her money.
• The elder is asked to sign documents but doesn't know what they are.
• Changes are made to the will.
• Assets are transferred or sold.
PHYSICAL ABUSE
• Bruises or injuries that don't seem consistent with the explanation.
• Evidence of an altercation, such as broken furniture or belongings.
• An elder's report of being hit or abused.
NEGLECT
• Wounds or injuries that are not healing or being treated.
• Medications not being filled or taken.
• Unexplained weight loss.
• Poor hygiene.
• Bills not being paid.
WHERE TO GET HELP
