A celebration of the life of the late Al Sicherman, longtime Star Tribune food writer and columnist, will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 25 at the Van Dusen Mansion (1900 LaSalle Av. S., Mpls.). Colleagues, friends and family will hold a program of reminiscences that starts at 6 p.m. Sicherman (aka Uncle Al and Mr. Tidbit) died on Aug. 27.
The event is free. Wear a bad tie in his honor, hoist an Extreme Brownie in his memory, see videos of him singing and (sort of) dancing at MinnPost fundraisers, view projects that always required at least three trips to the hardware store, shake hands with his son Dave, meet his real-life nieces and nephews — and share your favorite Al Sicherman stories.
