Whether you're an amateur photographer or just happen to be at the right place at the right time, we're looking to highlight your photos for our In Focus feature in the Sunday Variety section. Each week features a different theme, and we select the best photos submitted to run in the newspaper, with more photos in a gallery on startribune.com. Upcoming topics include:

Holiday keepsakes: We were so moved by the photos and stories from last year's submissions that we're doing it again. Send us a photo of your favorite holiday treasure, and don't forget to include the story behind it (deadline Dec. 7).

Here comes Santa Claus: Our annual Santa photo page has become a reader favorite. Let's see your best Santa photos; the more creative the better, but we're suckers for the sweet ones, too (deadline Dec. 7).

Feeling Minnesota Quiz: We're always accepting photos for our photo quiz. We want to see fun places from Minnesota that people might not know about, or unique perspectives of familiar places that will make us think.

And baby makes ...: We're hopping on the baby bandwagon. Send us your clever baby announcements. Remember, they don't have to be Pinterest-perfect (deadline Jan. 4).

Brrrrrrr: Sometimes the cold is almost comical, from peeping through scarves to layers upon layers of outerwear. Show us your bundling efforts (deadline Jan. 11).

Smitten with mittens: We have a crafty contingency in Minnesota, and handmade mittens are the envy of even our warm-weather friends. Send us your favorites (deadline Jan. 18).

To submit a photo: Send high-resolution photos from to infocus@startribune.com with the name of the category in the subject field. Please include your name, hometown and as much information as possible with your picture.

Now grab your camera (or phone), and get snapping!

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
