Gophers running back Shannon Brooks has been cleared to practice after missing the first two games recovering from a broken bone in his foot.

At Tuesday's press conference, Coach Tracy Claeys said how much Brooks plays Saturday against Colorado State will depend on how the sophomore practices this week.

"If he's sore, we won't take a chance on him this week," Claeys said.

Claeys had no update on the four players who've been suspended for a violation of team rules – KiAnte Hardin, Ray Buford, Dior Johnson and Tamarion Johnson.

It's unclear if there's even a chance they can return for this week's game.

"I don't know," Claeys said. "Violation of team policy, and playing day-by-day."
