Scott Bode of Shakopee is a three-sport athlete and right in the middle of a hectic final season.

The senior competes in the 195-pound weight division for the Sabers' wrestling team. He was a defensive end for the football team in the fall and will catch for the baseball team this spring.

Here is a closer look at Bode:

The best movie I've seen in the last year? "Fast Five."

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are ... "Right Above It" by Lil Wayne featuring Drake; "Our Song" by Taylor Swift; "25 to Life" by Eminem.

Three words or phrases my friends or teammates might use to describe me? Funny; leader; dependable.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? My most memorable moment as a high school athlete has to be winning the Missota Conference championship two years in a row for football. The last two seasons we laid the foundation for our football program. Going from times of rarely winning to winning ... has been real fun.

At my first varsity practice, I ... belonged. Even though I was only an eighth-grader on varsity I felt I belonged because my cousin was on the team. His friends and him brought me in and made me feel like I was a part of the team.

What did you work on in the offseason? Getting bigger, faster, and stronger. These three things are the focus of my summer workouts. Being bigger, faster, stronger helps in every sport.

I know I have an edge on an opponent when ... I believe in myself, and know I can do anything if I put my mind to it.

What were your goals for the 2011-12 seasons? My goal was [getting to] state for football, and that didn't happen. I did get all-conference. For wrestling, my goal is to win the section and place in the state tournament, plus make it there as a team. For baseball, my goal is to bat .400 and help lead my team to the state tournament as well.

What is your favorite meal prior to an event? Grandma Barb's macaroni and cheese.

If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be? A rule about late games. If you get back past midnight, you should be dismissed for the first hour of school.

How do you balance school and sports during the year? Make sure my school work is done before I do anything other than sports. If I have a game or meet, I will ask my teacher to work ahead. If I focus on my school work, then it is quite easy to balance sports in there, especially when you think ahead and do not procrastinate.

In 10 years, I hope I ... earn a degree in business, get a steady job and start a family.

Who is your favorite college or pro sports team and why? The Minnesota Twins. I am a hometown fan and baseball is my favorite sport.

What is the best sports advice you ever received? Play every game like it's your last. It ends fast and the name on the front of the jersey is more important than the name on the back.
