MINOT, N.D.–A sex offender who had been hired to serve as the Easter bunny at a Minot mall has been arrested.
Police in Minot say 24-year-old Minot resident Daniel Sanderson has been arrested on an outstanding warrant for a probation violation and has also been charged with failure to register as a sex offender.
Police on Friday said investigators received a tip alerting them that Sanderson was being employed through a job service agency to serve as the Easter bunny at the Dakota Square Mall.
The mall says the national photography company that provides the "Easter photo experience" at the facility is responsible for hiring all staff.
Court records show Sanderson was ordered to register as a sex offender after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor indecent exposure charge in December.
The records don't list an attorney who could comment on Sanderson's behalf.
