Xcel Energy says that about 7,500 customers remain without power as of 9 a.m. Tuesday in the wake of Sunday's tornado.

That's down from a peak of about 26,000.

Those still without electricity are in the hardest-hit areas of north Minneapolis and suburbs to the west.

About 400 Xcel emloyees will be in the area Tuesday clearing away trees and working to get power fully restored, hopefully by Wednesday night.
