The Twins were 2-5 against the Angels last season, which included losing three of four at Target Field. Over the past two seasons, the Twins are 2-12 against Los Angeles and have lost seven of eight games at home. ... Joe Mauer is batting just .258 in his career against Weaver. ... Eddie Rosario stopped an 0-for-10 skid and Byung Ho Park ended a 0-for-11 drought with hits on Thursday. ... Both of Trevor Plouffe's hits off the hard-throwing Richards have been home runs, including in his last plate appearance against him. ... ANGELS UPDATE

Weaver won't go away. The veteran was slowed by neck and shoulder stiffness this spring but has altered his delivery and won on Sunday at Texas. His fastball is down to the low 80s at times, but his pinpoint control, cunning and guile make him a formidable opponent. And he's 9-2 with a 3.22 ERA in 16 career starts against the Twins. ... New Angels shortstop Andrelton Simmons, acquired from Atlanta during the offseason, is one of the best defensive players in baseball and entertaining to watch. ... Mike Trout went hitless in his first eight at-bats of the season, but his timing is coming back. He hit his first home run of the season on Monday. ... Ji-Man Choi is the first South Korean-born player in Angels history. Signed as a teenager by the Mariners, Choi worked his way up the Mariners system and was a Rule 5 pick of the Angels this past offseason.
