TWINS UPDATE

The Twins open a six-game homestand — their final one of the season — against wild-card hopefuls Detroit and Seattle. … The Twins left Detroit last week with a split of the four-game series, knocking out three starters before the sixth inning. … Brian Dozier’s 22-game hitting streak is the longest by a Twin since Torii Hunter had a 23-game streak in 2007. … Look for Robbie Grossman, who tied a career high with four hits Sunday, to be somewhere in the lineup Tuesday. Eddie Rosario is banged up and Grossman is 3-for-4 with a home run against Boyd. Plus, he’s batting .374 against lefties this year with a 1.078 OPS. … It’s time for the Verlander-Joe Mauer battles to continue. Mauer is a career .333 hitter against Verlander with four home runs and 11 RBI.

But he began having headaches some time afterward, so watch for his availability. … Miguel Cabrera on Sunday became the 100th player to join the 2,500-hit club.
