TWINS UPDATE

This is the first series between the Twins and Indians at Target Field this season. Cleveland has won four of seven meetings at Progressive Field. … The Twins are expected to announce on Monday that Pino, a righthander, will make Tuesday's start. Pino, held the Mariners to one run over five innings on July 10. He was sent to Class AAA Rochester to stay on his throwing schedule but on Thursday gave up five runs on three hits and seven walks against Norfolk. … Look for lefthander Brian Duensing to play a big role in this series. Michael Brantley is only 4-for-26 against him in his career, and Carlos Santana is just 1-for-22. … Gibson has walked Jason Kipnis the past three times he has faced him.

INDIANS UPDATE

Cleveland comes into this series after winning three of four at AL Central-leading Detroit, including a doubleheader sweep Saturday. … House was a 16th-round draft pick in 2008 and has failed to pitch at least six innings in four of his eight starts. … Salazar was sent to the minors after a May 15 loss to Toronto. He had mixed results after returning to Class AAA Columbus, going 3-6 with a 4.02 ERA in 10 starts. He has struck out 67 and walked 28 in 53 ⅔ innings. He pitched 5 ⅔ innings in his final start there but walked five batters. Santana's one major league victory this season came against the Twins on May 7 in Cleveland.
