TWINS UPDATE

The Twins went 13-6 against the White Sox last season, including 8-2 at Target Field. The are 34-23 vs. Chicago over the past three years. … OF Max Kepler was called up Sunday to replace the injured Danny Santana and ended up replacing Miguel Sano in right field after Sano was ejected from the game in the seventh inning. It's hard to see Kepler playing much in this series, with Chicago using two lefthanded starters. … Then again, Joe Mauer is a career .345 hitter against Quintana and Eddie Rosario was 2-for-3 against him last season. Mauer, by the way, reached base in 10 of 14 plate appearances during the Kansas City series. … No Twins position player has ever faced Latos, a longtime National League pitcher. Ricky Nolasco is 0-for-3 against him.

WHITE SOX UPDATE

Chicago comes to town after having its game against Cleveland on Sunday rained out. … The White Sox signed OF Austin Jackson late in free agency to help with their poor defense, but he's also 10-for-30 against Hughes with a home run in his last at-bat against him. … OF Adam Eaton was placed on paternity leave Sunday. To replace him, Chicago called up RHP Michael Ynoa from Class AA Birmingham. Ynoa signed with Oakland out of the Dominican Republic in 2008 for a then-record $4.25 million. He came to the White Sox as part of the Jeff Samardzija deal in 2014 and is the older brother of 17-year-old Twins prospect Huascar Ynoa. Eaton might be able to rejoin the team in time for Monday's game. … Chicago is waiting for OF Avisail Garcia to finally break out. He did hit a three-run homer on Saturday.
