An 84-year-old collector, safari hunter and businessman from Nevada has been sentenced in Minneapolis for grabbing the breast of a medical assistant as they flew to Minnesota on his private jet for a hospital visit, an act that drew a rebuke from the federal judge who punished him.

Robert M. Lee, of Reno, was sentenced Wednesday on a misdemeanor assault conviction to 180 days of probation, including 30 days of home confinement, along with 60 hours of community service at a Nevada humane society. Lee also was ordered to pay a $5,000 fine and provide the victim $431.25 in restitution along with a letter of apology.

In imposing the sentence, Magistrate Judge Arthur Boylan called Lee's behavior "arrogant and offensive."

The incident occurred while Lee was on his way to Mayo Clinic in Rochester for what turned out to be a false alarm about a suspected stroke on Sept. 21, 2010. According to the indictment, the woman told him not to touch her again. He responded: "I can do whatever I want. ... This is my airplane."

The jet is owned by Deeside Trading Co., an umbrella operation for Lee's extensive collections of vintage cars, firearms, fine art, Fabergé eggs and other items.

Lee is also an author and conservationist, and his world travels have included African safaris and a scientific expedition into mountainous China in 1980, according to a biography of Lee on his publisher's website. He also founded Hunting World Inc., maker of luggage and leather goods for travelers.
