A second person has been hospitalized with a serious spinal cord injury after diving into Lake Minnetonka this summer.

Kirk Ingram, 28, of St. Louis Park, remains hospitalized in critical condition at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale from a spinal cord injury after diving into Lake Minnetonka last weekend, according to his family. His accident came after a 42-year-old man suffered a spinal cord injury during the July 4 weekend after he dove into shallow water near Big Island in Cruiser's Cove and hit his head on the bottom, according to the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office's Water Patrol Unit. That man wasn't identified by authorities, and his condition is unknown.

Meanwhile, Ingram's family and friends have raised more than $58,000 in an online fundraiser to support him and his family. To donate, go to gofundme.com/c43uwhf7c.
