The suspected gunman in last week's killing of a "high-ranking" St. Paul gang member was charged Thursday with firing the fatal shot.
Dearies C. Collins, 21, residence unknown, was charged in Ramsey County District Court with one count of second-degree murder and related drive-by, firearm and assault charges.
The charges allege that Collins killed Emmett L. Wilson-Shaw, 24, as Wilson-Shaw walked across the Earl Street Bridge with four friends in St. Paul on Oct. 15.
Authorities described Wilson-Shaw as a "high-ranking" member of the East Side Boyz gang.
