Second man charged in Minneapolis slaying

June 20, 2017 at 11:53PM

Police on Tuesday issued a warrant for the arrest of an 18-year-old man wanted in the killing of a teenager during a robbery attempt in north Minneapolis' Jordan neighborhood last week.

Authorities said that Terry Gibson had not been arrested as of Tuesday afternoon, and his whereabouts are unknown. The city man faces a charge of second-degree murder in the June 13 slaying of 17-year-old Austin Young.

Gibson is the second man charged in connection with the killing.

Police said Gibson shot Young after a failed robbery during a drug deal near N. 26th and Knox avenues, according to a criminal complaint. He and two other suspect — one of whom, Armajea Warren, 18, of New Hope, was charged Friday — fled before police arrived, the complaint said.

The third suspect hasn't been identified.
