A second brother was charged by petition this week after being caught sticky-handed following a chicken wing robbery.

Tracrill T. Smith, 16, was charged in Ramsey County District Court with aggravated robbery and illegal possession of a gun after he and his 19-year-old stepbrother robbed a Checkerboard Pizza deliveryman at gunpoint during a Friday night delivery in the 800 block of E. Geranium Avenue.

Smith's brother Karheem S. Kirk was charged with first-degree aggravated robbery earlier this week.

According to the petition: The deliveryman pulled up to the house and was approached by two men sitting nearby who asked if he was from Checkerboard. When the deliveryman replied that he was, one of the men pointed a handgun at him while the other man stole his money, wallet and 16-piece order of chicken wings.

Tracing the phone number used to make the order, police were able to find the brothers at their St. Paul home about a block from the crime scene.

Police noticed Smith's hands were "slimy and sticky and smelled like hot sauce commonly used on chicken wings." Remnants of chicken wings were found in the brothers' bedroom. In a later search, a silver handgun was discovered under a bed. While in the squad car, Smith was overheard saying he "should have washed my hands."

Smith initially denied knowledge of the robbery until he was told of the evidence against them such as the phone used to call in the delivery and the food found. He said the gun that was used was a silver and black 9mm.

Smith said that the robbery was his idea and that they needed some food. Specifically he recalled saying, "Time to rob the pizza man."

When asked more about what part he played in the robbery, Smith told police, "I plead guilty."
