A two-year-old girl identified as Daisy Jo Holland is missing from a campground along the Elk River in Sherburne County.

Searchers are on the ground, as well as on boats on the river next to Wapiti Park, a private campground in Elk River, according to the Sherburne County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities said Saturday morning that dogs have tracked her scent to the edge of the river.

Daisy Jo is described as 2 feet tall and 30 pounds, with shoulder length blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen about 8 p.m. wearing black pants and a pink shirt that imprinted with "Hello Kitty."

Juanita Glenn, manager of the small campground, said she received a call that a 2-year-old was missing just before dark. "Everybody started looking immediately, and even before the police got here," she said.

The park is located on the west side of the City of Elk River, just off Highway 10.

Daisy Jo is the youngest of three children who had come to the campground with two women and a man, Glenn said.

The man, who was from Elk River, had checked them into the campground, Glenn said.

She said the adults were putting up their tents for a one-night stay.
