Commuters in Newport and South St. Paul who use Hardman or Maxwell Avenues to access eastbound I-494 should prepare to find ramps closing starting Monday night.
At 6 p.m. Monday through 3 p.m. Thursday, the Minnesota Department of Transportation will close the ramp at Hardman Avenue to seal the bridge deck and other maintenance projects. The official detour will take motorists over to Concord Street to access eastbound 494.
Once that work at Hardman is done, the action will shift to the Maxwell Avenue ramp for three days. During the closure, motorists should use to Hwy. 61 to get on eastbound 494.
