The Schubert Club has announced its 2013-14 International Artist Series at Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in St. Paul.

The club's 131st season begins with a recital by a Twin Cities favorite, American pianist Jonathan Biss (Oct. 2), who will play music of Beethoven (Waldstein Sonata) and Schumann (Davidsbündlertänze).

German-born violinist Christian Tetzlaff and pianist Lars Vogt will present a program of music by Mozart, Beethoven and Webern (Nov. 19).

Violinist Gidon Kremer with his Grammy-winning chamber orchestra Kremerata Baltica will perform music of Britten, Shostakovich and Mieczyslaw Weinberg (Feb. 8, 2014).

Two Russian-born musicians conclude the series: pianist Valentina Lisitsa, in her Schubert Club recital debut (March 11, 2014), and renowned baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky performing music of Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Medtner and Tchaikovsky (May 19, 2014).

Also announced was the lineup for the club's annual Music in the Park series, performed at St. Anthony United Church of Christ in St. Paul. First up is the Pacifica Quartet with clarinetist Anthony McGill (Sept. 29), followed by Minnesota Orchestra concertmaster Erin Keefe on violin with pianist Anna Polonsky (Oct. 27), the Gryphon Trio (Jan. 26, 2014), WindSync (Feb, 23, 2014), the Miró Quartet (March 30, 2014) and Cuarteto Latinoamericano (April 27, 2014).
