A Minnetonka School District bus between morning routes was involved in a multivehicle crash Thursday in Excelsior, and authorities say there was at least one injury.

The bus had no students aboard and had finished serving Minnewashta Elementary School. It was on its way to its Minnetonka Middle School West route at the time of the crash in the 25300 block of Smithtown Road, said district spokeswoman Janet Swiecichowski.

A car did catch fire, police said.

There is no immediate information on the number of injuries or their nature.
