The opening night after-party for “Hot Funky Butt Jazz” at the Guthrie Theater in downtown Minneapolis featured a New Orleans-style nightclub setting, complete with Creole-themed hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar and “hot” music led by jazz trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis.
Guests included cast members and Twin Cities singer/songwriter Kat Perkins.
Proceeds from the party benefit Interact Center for the Visual and Performing Arts, the mission of which is to create art that “challenges perceptions of disability.”
