The annual Festa Italiana, held on Harriet Island in St. Paul, is a two-day gathering to celebrate Italian culture. Attendees could explore their Italian roots in the heritage pavilion, partake in a bocce ball tournament and enjoy live music and dancing. Of course, no Italian celebration would be complete without plenty of food. Vendors offered Italian staples — from spaghetti and meatballs and wood-fired pizza to cannoli and gelato. Gondola rides along the Mississippi River offered a perfect view of the downtown skyline and brought just a bit of Venice to St. Paul.
