The garden at Dharma Field Zen Center in southwest Minneapolis is an oasis for pollinating insects, which made it the ideal space to host a unique fundraiser, dubbed the Pollinator Buzzaroo.

Designed to promote environmentally friendly gardens, the “buzzaroo” included discussions on how to create a pollinator habitat, sales of Minnesota-native plants and tastings of locally sourced artisan honey. Those willing to get their hands dirty made colorful prints using the leaves of native plants.

Mother Nature cooperated for the event last month, providing a sky-blue backdrop and bright sunlight that shone on participants and pollinators alike.
