Ohio State turned the tables on No. 1 Notre Dame on Saturday night, trouncing the host Irish 5-1 in Big Ten hockey with a three-goal third period.

Notre Dame edged the No. 6 Buckeyes 2-1 in the series opener to clinch the conference regular-season title.

Goals by Matthew Weis in the first and Matt Joyaux in the ninth minute of the second gave OSU a 2-0 lead. Joyaux's goal was his first of the season and proved to be the winner.

Ohio State goalie Sean Romeo had 39 saves. Cale Morris had 30 and Dylan St. Cyr three stops for the Irish.

No. 19 Michigan 3, Michigan State 2: Quinn Hughes' goal with just under six minutes left gave the Wolverines a two-goal lead over the visiting Spartans, and they held on for the victory after the two teams tied Friday. Hayden Lavigne made 32 saves for Michigan.

No. 8 North Dakota 5, Colorado College 1: Joel Janatuinen scored two goals and three teammates had a goal and an assist as the host Fighting Hawks beat the Tigers for a series split. Goals by Janatuinen and Shane Gersich put UND ahead 2-0 into the third.

No. 4 St. Cloud State 4, Miami (Ohio) 0: Nick Poehling gave the Huskies a 1-0 lead early in the second period and Dave Hrenak made 30 saves for the shutout over the RedHawks. St. Cloud State scored three more goals in the third. Patrick Newell made it 2-0 halfway through the period and then added a shorthanded empty-netter.

No. 5 Minnesota State Mankato 6, Alabama Huntsville 1: Marc Michaelis had a goal and two assists to pace the Mavericks against the host Chargers.

Michigan Tech 5, Bemidji State 1: Five players scored goals as Huskies routed Beavers in Houghton, Mich. The Huskies scored three times in a 4½-minute stretch in the middle of the second period to open a 4-1 lead.
