Peter Tischke scored with 1 minute, 52 seconds left in the third period to enable Wisconsin to tie host Penn State 3-3 on Saturday night in Big Ten hockey. After a scoreless overtime, the Nittany Lions won the shootout 1-0 on Liam Folkes' goal for an extra point in the conference standings.

In regulation, Penn State, No. 14 in the uscho.com rankings, took a 3-1 lead on goals by Sam Sternschein with 59 seconds left in the second period and Chase Berger at 56 seconds of the third. Sean Dhooghe got the No. 15 Badgers within a goal at 3:41 of the third.

Kyle Hayton had 35 saves for Wisconsin. Peyton Jones had 26 for Penn State, which won the series opener 5-1.

No. 8 Ohio State 5, Michigan State 3: Dakota Joshua scored two goals and Matthew Weis had a goal and an assist to lead the Buckeyes over the host Spartans. Joshua's second goal at 11 minutes of the third period put OSU ahead 4-2 and proved to be the game-winner. Sam Saliba scored twice for Michigan State.

No. 6 North Dakota 7, No. 18 Omaha 0: Austin Poganski scores two goals and Rhett Gardner had the first goal late in the opening period and two assists as the Fighting Hawks routed the visiting Mavericks for a series split. Peter Thome made 13 saves for the shutout. Omaha won the opener 4-1.

Bemidji State 6, Lake Superior State 3: After falling behind 2-0 four minutes into the game, the Beavers got one goal in the first period and five more in the second to sweep the host Lakers. Kyle Bauman had two goals and an assist for Bemidji State while Michael Bitzer, who had a 3-0 shutout in the opener, made 15 saves.
