Bo Brauer's goal in the 15th minute of the second period gave sixth-ranked Notre Dame a 1-0 victory over visiting Penn State on Saturday afternoon in Big Ten hockey.

Cale Morris made 33 saves for the shutout. Peyton Jones had 26 stops for the Nittany Lions, who lost 5-3 in the series opener.

Ohio State 1, Connecticut 1 (OT): Tanner Laczynski's goal at 9:23 of the third period gave the Buckeyes the lead, but Jesse Schwartz of UConn tied it at 16:41 and that's the way the game ended after a scoreless overtime.

Michigan State 2, Wisconsin 0: Cody Milan scored a power-play goal in the first period and Mitch Lewandowski got a goal midway through the third as the host Spartans upset the No. 7 Badgers. John Lethemon stopped 38 shots for the shutout. Kyle Hayton made 15 saves for Wisconsin. Michigan State was 1-for-3 on the power play, the Badgers 0-4.

Western Michigan 5, Minnesota Duluth 0: Luke Bafia and Austin Rueschoff scored goals 58 seconds apart early in the second period to break a scoreless tie as the No. 18 Broncos routed the No. 12 Bulldogs at Amsoil Arena. Ben Blacker got the shutout on 31 stops.

North Dakota 3, Miami (Ohio) 3 (2 OTs): Josh Melnick scored for the RedHawks with 1:24 left in the third period to tie the score at Ralph Engelstad Arena. The Fighting Hawks outshot Miami 5-3 in the two scoreless overtimes. Goal scorers for UND, which fell behind 2-0, were Colton Poolman, Dixon Bowen and Shane Gersich.

MSU Mankato 8, Bemidji State 6: Max Coatta had a hat trick and Marc Michaelis had two goals and an assist as the No. 10 Mavericks beat the host Beavers by outscoring them 3-1 in the third period. Jay Dickman had a hat trick for Bemidji State.
