• NORTH DAKOTA 4, ALABAMA-HUNTSVILLE 1: Alabama-Huntsville didn't make it easy for the No. 2-ranked team in the country this weekend.

Drake Caggiula scored a shorthanded goal in the second period Saturday and the Fighting Hawks (18-2-2) earned a weekend sweep of the Chargers (4-14-2) in Grand Forks, N.D.

North Dakota has won eight in a row, but its first two games of 2016 weren't cakewalks. The Fighting Hawks won 1-0 Friday and led 2-1 Saturday until they got goals from Bryn Chyzyk and Tucker Poolman in the final two minutes of the game.

North Dakota goalie Cam Johnson gave up a first-period goal to Richard Buri that deflected off a defenseman's stick. The goal tied the score at 1-1 and ended a scoreless streak of 298 minutes, 25 seconds by Johnson, the second-longest such streak in NCAA history.

• ST. CLOUD STATE 7, ARIZONA STATE 0: Patrick Russell scored twice, Niklas Nevalainen had a goal and three assists and the host Huskies (16-4) blew out the Sun Devils (5-14) for the second game in a row. Mikey Eyssimont and Judd Peterson each had a goal and two assists for No. 5 St. Cloud State, which won the series opener 6-1 Friday. The Huskies outshot Arizona State 51-29.
